Purchasing a new, pre-owned, or refurbished Apple computer:

If you’re not sure what you need or want in a Mac, and/or what features are worth paying for, I’ll guide you in defining the correct choice for your needs, and find the best price on a computer. This can usually be done in a one-hour consultation, via phone, or remotely via screensharing. Most of the time, you will recover the modest consultation fee — and then some — by getting the right machine at the correct price.

Should I upgrade my Mac, or replace it?

Eventually, everyone will confront this dilemma – and the correct choice is usually not obvious. I will provide a detailed cost-benefit analysis for your particular situation, and if migrating to a newer machine is justified, I’ll find the best current price on a computer that suits your needs.

Windows to OSX transitions:

We specialize in moving your digital life from Windows to Mac. It’s easier than you think, and you’ll be glad you did it. Still need Windows for some esoteric Windows-only software, or for the Win version of QuickBooks? That’s easy too. All Apple computers, beginning in 2006, are manufactured with Intel processors, which means they support native installations of all versions of the Windows operating system. And you can run Windows simultaneously with OSX — or natively as a Windows-only computer  by choosing your installed version of Windows at startup. You have two computers in one – literally – and enjoy the superiority of Apple hardware and engineering.

Website Design and Consultation

Affordable Website & Email Hosting

There are hundreds of hosting services out there, and it can be a nightmare to sift through the conflicting reviews and recommendations. We offer web and email hosting through one of the most respected and secure hosting providers on the planet.

Domain-based Email

What does that mean? It means you can add a professional touch to your personal / business communications by purchasing a domain for yourself, or your business, and creating one or more email addresses based on that domain name. For example — if your name is Xavier Cugat, you could purchase the domain xaviercugat.com (if it’s available) and then you could be xavier@xaviercugat.com, or perfidia@xaviercugat.com. Pretty cool, and very affordable — a few dollars a month. Contact me about setting it up, or with questions you have about websites or web & email hosting.

Wireless Networks

Cost-effective wired / wireless networks for your home, office, and property.

Mac-based Video Monitoring and Surveillance Systems

Most security / surveillance software is built for Windows — but we’re about elegant, functional software solutions, so it’s no surprise that the best video surveillance & monitoring software is built for OSX, from the ground up, by Security Spy. It’s beautiful. It supports hundreds of video cams, of all type. The software runs on your Macs — but you can view your cameras from any browser, from any computer on the planet. And there’s a dedicated, superbly-functional app for iOS. Check out Security Spy here and the iOS app here and email me with your questions.
